How to Set Up Spotify Links in Spotui
Follow these two steps to allow Spotui to open Spotify links directly.
Step 1: Clear Chrome's Link Defaults (Required)
Android may prevent Spotui from claiming Spotify links while Chrome is set as the default app for those links.
- Tap “1. Open Chrome Link Settings” in Spotui.
- Open Chrome's Open by default settings.
- Turn OFF “Open supported links”, or select “In browser” or “Clear defaults”, depending on your Android version.
- Return to Spotui.
Important: Complete Step 1 before proceeding to Step 2.
Step 2: Enable Default Links for Spotui
- Tap “2. Enable Defaults for Spotui” in Spotui.
- Open Spotui's App info or Open by default settings.
- Tap “Add link” or “+ Add link”, if available.
- Select "open.spotify.com" from the supported links list.
- Enable “Open supported links” or the equivalent option.
- Save your settings and return to Spotui.
Make sure "open.spotify.com" is selected. If "spotify.link" is available, enable it as well.
Step 3: Test the Setup
- Open a Spotify link, such as "https://open.spotify.com/".
- Check whether Android opens the link in Spotui.
- If it opens in Chrome instead, review the default-link settings for both apps.
Note: These steps configure Spotify links to open in Spotui. They do not, by themselves, sign you in to your Spotify account. If Spotui still displays its login screen, follow the authentication instructions provided inside the app.
